What is OpenJPEG For Mac?

OpenJPEG For Mac

OpenJPEG is a cool open-source library made for JPEG 2000. The goal of this project is to help more people use JPEG 2000 images. It’s like a toolkit that makes working with these types of images easier.

What’s Inside OpenJPEG?

The main feature of OpenJPEG is its JPEG 2000 codec, which sticks to the rules set in Part 1 of the standard (Class-1 Profile-1 compliance). But that’s not all! OpenJPEG has some other handy tools:

  • JP2: This part handles JP2 boxes and works with multispectral and hyperspectral imagery.

  • MJ2: This section focuses on JPEG 2000 standard Part 3.

  • JPWL: This covers Part 11 of the JPEG 2000 standards.

  • JPIP: This part deals with Part 9 standards.

  • OPJViewer: A user-friendly viewer for J2K, JP2, JPWL, and MJ2 files!

Supported Platforms

The best part? The OpenJPEG library is written in C language, making it compatible with popular systems like Mac OS X, Win32, and Unix platforms. So no matter what you’re using, there’s a good chance you can run it!
