OpenInGitGui is a handy little tool that you can grab for free! It lets you open Git-Gui straight from your Finder. Super easy, right? With OpenInGitGui, you can add a cool icon to your Finder that opens Git-Gui for the folder you're currently in. Just a heads up, it’s set to work with installs at /usr/local/git/bin, so keep that in mind.
Installing and using this tool is a breeze! First, you’ll want to download it and then extract the files to /Applications/Scripts. You might need to create the Scripts folder if it doesn't already exist. Once you've got that sorted, find the icon and drag it up to your toolbar. Hold it there for a few seconds until it “sticks.” Easy peasy!
Now comes the fun part! To use OpenInGitGui, just open Finder and navigate to a folder where your git repository is chilling. Then, click on that shiny new “Git” icon in your toolbar, and voila! You’re all set to work with Git-Gui.
