Ollie's iPod Extractor is a small application that can be used to move the contents of your iPod to your iTunes library. This is extremely useful if you just reinstalled your system without backing up and lost all your tracks.
To use Ollie's iPod Extractor make sure that the iPod device is connected to your Mac. Launch the iTunes application, select the iPod from the sidebar and check the “Manually manage music and videos” box. This way, you will ensure that you will copy the iPod tracks to your Mac and not vice versa.
Ollie's iPod Extractor will automatically detect when an iPod has been plugged in your computer and you can see the device name in the main window.
To actually start the transfer process, simply press the “Copy to iTunes” button. The app displays further indications in prompt messages and you will also have to input the administrator password.
Via the Syncing menu, you can choose to import the included playlists and some of the tracks metadata (the play count and rating).
