ODCUT stands for Open Disk CleanUp Tools, and it's a handy tool to help you clean up your disk space. If you've noticed your computer running low on storage, ODCUT provides some great extensions to the Windows Disk Cleanup tool. These tools can help free up space that's been taken up by various applications, especially those pesky cache files that just sit there taking up room.
So, what does ODCUT clean? Here's a quick look at some of the main features:
The Google Earth Cache Cleaner is super useful! It finds and deletes any cache files that Google Earth creates. These files hold cached images that can take up a ton of space—sometimes even over a gigabyte—if you're not careful!
If you're using Mozilla Firefox, there's also a cache cleaner for it. This tool looks for and removes those temporary internet files (like images and videos) stored by Firefox. Depending on how you use it, this can save quite a bit of space, usually around 50 MiB.
If you're an Opera user, don't worry! The Opera Cache Cleaner works similarly. It cleans out temporary files from your browsing history too, which can be about 80 MiB if you use it often.
The Terminal Services Cache Cleaner will help remove cached images used in Remote Desktop sessions. Sometimes this can take more than 50 MiB of disk space!
If you're into programming with Visual Studio, you'll appreciate the Visual Studio Intermediate Files Cleaner. It hunts down all those intermediate files created during project compilation and clears them out efficiently.
This one is for users who compile projects using GNU compilers. The MinGW Intermediate Files Cleaner searches your profile folder and gets rid of object module files (.o).
If you're using 64-bit Windows, make sure to download the installer version marked as x64. The x86 (32-bit) version works but might not register correctly with the 64-bit cleanup utility.
You can grab ODCUT in English or Estonian—just look for the labels 'en' or 'et' when installing!
