The ODBC .NET Data Provider is a handy tool made to work alongside the .NET Framework. It helps you connect with native ODBC drivers, just like how the OLE DB .NET Data Provider connects with native OLE DB providers. Pretty neat, right?

This provider is built to cooperate with all compliant ODBC drivers. However, it’s been specifically tested with a few drivers:

Requirements for Installation

Requirements:

If you don’t have the .NET Framework (which comes with Visual Studio .NET), the setup will not work. The installation adds the Microsoft.Data.Odbc namespace to the global assembly cache.

You’ll also need to install MDAC 2.7 or a newer version.
