Description

Nvidia OpenGL Display Driver for Solaris

The Nvidia OpenGL Display Driver for Solaris is a free graphics driver made by Nvidia. It’s designed to work with OpenGL and GLSL technologies on Solaris operating systems. You’ll find that this driver works with both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x86_64) versions of Solaris, even though there's just one file available for download.

Compatibility with Various Graphics Cards

This version supports OpenGL 4 technology, which means it works with many Nvidia graphics cards. If you have a card from the GeForce 700, 600, 500, or 400 series, you’re in luck! Plus, it also supports several powerful models from the Quadro series like the K6000, K5000, K4000, K2000, K2000D, and K600.

OpenGL Support on Older GPUs

If you're using older Nvidia GPUs from the GeForce 9 and 8 series or even the ION and ION LE series, you can still use OpenGL 3 technology. This support extends to GeForce models like the 300, 200, and even the classic GeForce 100.

Workstation Compatibility

For those using Workstations with Nvidia GPUs from the Quadro NVS series or Quadro FX series, good news! OpenGL 3 is also supported here. The Quadro Plex series and other specialized boards like Quadro G-Sync are included too. Also supported are M-Class and C-Class processors alongside S-Class systems.

How to Install the Driver

If you want to install the Nvidia OpenGL Display Driver on your Solaris OS, it’s pretty straightforward. Start by downloading the self-extracting installer from above. Save it in your Home directory. Then switch to console mode and run this command as root: sh ./NVIDIA-Solaris-x86-xxx.xx.xx.run, where xxx.xx.xx is your driver version number.

Support for Other Operating Systems

The great thing about this driver is that it also supports GNU/Linux and FreeBSD operating systems! You can find these versions over at Softpedia by simply searching for Nvidia OpenGL Display Driver.
