What is NovaGPS?
NovaGPS
NovaGPS provides manual or automatic setting of time and location from consumer-grade (or better) GPS receivers. It is a simple-to-use tracking system that offers accuracy to better than 0.5 seconds using off-the-shelf GPS receivers like Garmin GPS-38, GPS-45, etc., that have NMEA 0183 output compatibility.
Key Features of NovaGPS
- No modifications required to GPS receiver
- Needs only industry-standard NMEA 0183 output
- Most GPS receivers connect directly to the computer's serial port (port is selectable)
- Accuracy to less than 0.5 seconds
- Keeps computer clock accurate for high-performance satellite tracking
- Can be used once for setting the main ground station's location
- Can be used continuously for a mobile satellite station
- Writes to a data file and/or to Nova for Windows' AutoTracking Observer

- Computer: 486 or Pentium PC, one free serial port
- Memory: < 4MB RAM
- Disk Space: < 1 MB
