Here are some key features of Network Query Tool:
- Reverse Lookup: This feature helps resolve an IP address to a hostname (if there's one) or the other way around.
- DNS Query: Also known as Dig; you'll need a dig binary on your system for this.
- Whois (WWW): Get all the domain registration info you need. It supports almost every known TLD, gTLD, and ccTLD!
- Whois (IP): Find out who owns an IP address. It covers all IP blocks maintained by ARIN (US), RIPE (Europe), JPNIC (Japan), APNIC (China/Asia-Pacific), BRNIC (Brazil), LACNIC (Latin America), AFRINIC (Africa), and KRNIC (Korea).
- Check Port: See if a specific port on the target host is open. By default, it checks port 80.
- Ping: Runs a 5-packet ping to your target; just make sure you have a ping binary!
- Traceroute: Does a traceroute to the target but requires a traceroute binary too.
Requirements for Network Query Tool
Your setup needs:
- You'll need PHP 5.x—it's best to use the latest stable release! Starting from version 1.8, NQT needs those object-oriented features that came with PHP 5.
- A standard ping, traceroute, and dig binaries are recommended for everything to work perfectly. These usually exist even on Windows servers, so no Unix environment is necessary!
