Description
Network Monitor Widget
Network Monitor Widget is a handy tool made for the Yahoo! Widget Engine. It keeps an eye on up to nine servers by using the Ping command. This makes it super useful for both network admins and everyday users. Plus, it even checks your computer's temperature!
Simple Interface
The interface is really straightforward. You get a small window that you can drag around your screen with your mouse. Right when you start it up, it checks the server and displays the last checkup date and time at the bottom of the window.
User Preferences
You’ve got some cool options too! You can set a global hotkey to trigger Network Monitor Widget. Also, you can adjust how often it refreshes its information.
Custom Settings
You can turn off text messages if you want, specify server IP addresses and names, and even set up the IP address for the APC environmental unit along with its maximum temperature for monitoring.
Widget Features
This widget has some neat features thanks to the Yahoo! Widget Engine. You can choose whether to keep its frame on top or below other windows, ignore mouse clicks, or stop dragging it around. You can also change how see-through it is, from 20% to 100% opacity!
Performance
The best part? Network Monitor Widget doesn't slow down your computer at all! It uses very little CPU and RAM. In our tests, we found that it had a great refresh rate and didn’t hang or crash—no annoying error messages either! Just keep in mind that this widget hasn’t been updated in a long time since the Yahoo! Widget Engine project was discontinued.
