Getting Started with NeoFinder

When you first open NeoFinder, you'll need to choose which volumes or folders you want to index. The cool part? NeoFinder automatically creates a new catalog for each location you add!

In the Cataloging Settings window, you get to decide which types of files should keep their metadata. You can also specify what archives (like disk images, ZIP files, and more) should be indexed. Plus, if there are items you don’t want included—like invisible files or aliases—you can easily ignore those.

User-Friendly Navigation

The main window of NeoFinder is designed for easy navigation through your catalogs. You can choose between icon, list, or column views. Once you've picked a file, the app shows its thumbnail (if available), along with all the detected metadata and details about the catalog it belongs to. For geotagged photos, you can even visualize them on a map or add geographic info yourself!

Create Smart Folders for Better Organization

NeoFinder also helps you keep things organized through smart folders. It comes with some predefined smart folders already set up but allows you to create your own by defining specific sorting rules that work best for you.
