myOSM is a cool desktop app for Mac that helps you explore different online maps like OpenStreetMap, OpenCycleMap, and even NASA's BlueMarble. It’s packed with handy features to make your map experience smoother and lets you see each map clearly.

You can dive into several types of OpenStreetMap options: Mapink, Big, MapQuest, and Cloudmade. Switching between maps is easy—just click a drop-down menu twice! While the loading time for each map is pretty quick, zooming in and out takes a little longer.

Zooming Made Easy

With myOSM, you have different ways to zoom in or out on the maps. You can use a slider at the top of the window, your scroll wheel, or just double-click anywhere on the map. But heads up—the scroll response isn’t as fast as you'd hope. Plus, there's a nice feature where you can pin a spot right in the center of the map for easier navigation.

Search Features

Another great thing about myOSM is its search capability. If you're looking for cities, seas, rivers, or buildings, just type it in and hit Enter. A results window will pop up showing all possible names that match your search along with details like country and coordinates. You can get to any location easily with just a double-click!

Create PDFs of Your Maps

PDF exporting is another highlight! You can save whatever part of the map you're viewing into a PDF document with just one click. While checking out an area, you'll see the coordinates displayed at the bottom. It would be even cooler if it showed the coordinates right under your mouse cursor though!

Bookmark Your Favorite Spots

You can also bookmark locations using myOSM. This lets you save where you are currently looking at on the map. You can manage these bookmarks in their window where you can adjust zoom levels and organize them into folders—super handy!

A Great Tool Overall!
