MyDock

MyDock is a pretty cool tool for your Mac. It gives you the freedom to have not just one Dock, but a second one too! If you're not so fond of the default Dock, you can even swap it out for something more flexible.

Flexible Dock Options

This software lets you use MyDock as a secondary Dock that can be placed anywhere on your screen. You can also replace the macOS Dock completely if that's what you prefer. One of the best things about MyDock is how easily it moves around your desktop. Forget being stuck with Apple’s fixed position!

With MyDock, you can place it wherever it works best for you—yes, even in the middle of your screen! This is super handy if your workflow needs something different than what Apple’s Dock offers.

Add or Remove Apps Easily

Managing apps is a breeze! Just click on the new icon in your menu bar to access preferences. You can add apps by either browsing through their folders or simply dragging them into the list. So easy!

Personalize Your Icons

You get to choose from three different icon sizes and decide between horizontal or vertical orientation. Plus, you can tweak the opacity from 0% to 100%. However, keep in mind that adjusting dimensions isn't quite as detailed as with Apple's original Dock.

Limitations to Consider

Now, while MyDock has some great features, it doesn’t have everything Apple’s Dock does. For example, there’s no magnification feature or an indicator for open apps. You also can’t show minimized windows separately or use auto-hide.

A Great Companion App

I wouldn’t say MyDock completely replaces Apple’s Dock since it lacks some functionality. Plus, there's a minor design issue where the right and bottom edges don’t have margins—kind of looks off!

The good news? You don’t have to choose! You can run both MyDock and the original Dock at the same time. This way, MyDock serves as a handy launcher and app switcher.
