MultiDock

MultiDock is a handy tool that really helps when you need more than one dock on your Mac. Since macOS only allows one Dock at a time, this app steps in to save the day!

What is MultiDock?

MultiDock is a pretty straightforward app that shares some features with another project from the same developer called ActiveDock. It’s designed to help you keep all your apps, files, and folders organized into multiple dock-like panels.

Panels Like Docks

Now, while these panels aren’t exactly Docks in the strictest sense, they work similarly! You can create shortcuts for your favorite items, and guess what? They look almost just like the regular macOS Dock!

Moveable Panels

You can move these panels around freely when they're in floating mode or pin them to any of the four sides of your screen. They stay on top of other windows except for those in fullscreen mode—just like how your regular Dock behaves.

Adding Shortcuts Made Easy

Once you add a new panel, it’s super easy to fill it up with shortcuts. Just drag and drop! You can also rearrange them later by dragging them around again.

Customizing Your Panels

Each panel has its own unique options—you can change the theme and item sizes. Feel free to name them too! Plus, you can show running applications if you want.

A Small Quirk

A little hiccup we noticed is that moving the panels can sometimes open one of your shortcuts by mistake. Also, there’s no way to lock them down so that new items can't be added by accident or mess with their order.

A Better Organized Dock Experience

If your Dock is starting to feel cramped, having MultiDock gives you a great alternative place to store your items. While it might not have all the features of the macOS Dock, it definitely does help keep things tidy!
