How to Get Started with Mosaik

First up, you'll need to choose an image folder on your Mac. This folder will hold all the pictures that Mosaik will mix together to create your mosaic masterpiece.

Save Your Collections

A neat feature of Mosaik is the ability to save any collection of images as a material bank. This means if you want to use the same pictures later for another mosaic, you don't have to go digging through folders again. Just load your saved material bank, and you're good to go!

Customize Your Mosaic Layout

The top toolbar in Mosaik makes it simple to decide how many rows and columns you want in your mosaic. This way, you can blend those materials just how you like!

Exporting Your Creations

When you're ready to save your creation, Mosaik lets you choose exactly how big the final image will be—up to a whopping 15000 x 15000 pixels! Plus, there's an option called "Constraint proportions" which keeps everything looking balanced based on the original image's shape.

Multiple Formats Available

You have options when it comes time to export! Save your photo mosaic as a PNG, JPG, or BMP file. If you're feeling fancy, you can even save it as a CSV file!
