Handling your personal finances is not an easy task, especially if you need to juggle with multiple accounts, loans, income sources, and so on.

Monyrama is a Java based application that tries to deliver a well-organized workspace where you get to manage various accounts together with all associated transactions and expenses, while also operating with multiple currencies.

Within the Monyrama main window, you get to define multiple accounts and specify the amount of money you start with together with the currency you want to use. As soon as you start adding transactions, the utility will update the balance in real time.

Note that Monyrama includes a currencies manager where you can choose to have the exchange rate automatically updated from an online source. However, you can also opt for a custom value set manually.

Monyrama provides support for recording income and expenses transactions, allows you to organize the expenses by category, enables you to keep track of lent or borrowed money, and can generate graphs to help you better understand the situation.

To eliminate the need to go back to your computer for each new transaction, the developers provide a companion application that can run on Android device. At the same time, Monyrama integrates a server component that can be easily activated.

To sync the database between your devices, you need to connect them to the same WiFi network (Monyrama will not upload your information to the cloud.) However, keep in mind that the Monyrama Android app is available only as a commercial product.

Monyrama brings to the table elementary capabilities when it comes to recording transactions and monitoring expenses. You get to work with multiple currencies, organize expenses by category, search through your database for particular transactions, and so on.

On the other hand, given the fact that Monyrama works on the Java runtime, the interface design might look outdated on the more recent OS X releases.

What’s more, Monyrama does not integrate any exporting capabilities, even though you can decide to backup the database file generated by default.
