Monu is a handy menubar application that helps you keep an eye on and manage different processes right from your status bar. It’s super easy to see the status of each process at a glance, and if something's not working, you can quickly restart it!
The user interface of Monu is pretty straightforward. You’ll find a small panel in your status bar that shows all the processes you're monitoring along with their current status. For each process, Monu gives you important details like uptime, PID (that’s just a fancy way of saying Process ID), and the command used to kick it off.
But wait, there’s more! Monu also comes with some cool actions you can use for the selected process or even for all of them at once. Just click your mouse, and you can start or restart processes or send commands to stop them if needed.
Getting started with Monu is simple. Just hit the “Open Config Folder” button in the app’s panel. This opens up the config.json file right in Finder for you.
You can open this file in any text editor. Using JSON syntax, it's easy to add new processes to your monitoring list by giving them a name and setting up their launch command.
Another neat feature is that Monu generates log files for each process. You can open these log files easily by clicking a button that takes you straight to the output folder in Finder. Once you're there, just open the .log files using any text processor!
Overall, Monu gives you a clean graphical user interface for monitoring various processes from your status bar. Sure, getting set up requires some basic JSON knowledge initially, but once that's done, managing everything becomes super smooth!
