Mimeo II is a handy little tool for OS X that makes copying files a breeze. You know how frustrating it can be when you're trying to move a bunch of files, and the Finder just freezes or throws an error? Well, Mimeo II steps in to save the day!
This app has a super simple interface. Just open up one window, and you'll set your source folder (where your files are) and the destination folder (where you want them to go). Oh, and if you already have files in your destination, you can choose to overwrite them!
Once you've got everything set up, hit that “Start” button. Mimeo II will get to work right away! You can watch the progress as it copies your files. The app keeps track of when it started and ended the transfer, how much data was moved, and even the size of the log file.
For example, on a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac with 6GB of RAM running OS X El Capitan, Mimeo II zipped through copying 7.4GB of data in about 15 minutes! It used around 5% of CPU power and just 40 MB of RAM during that time.
If something goes wrong while copying (which happens sometimes), don't worry! Mimeo II automatically creates two text files right on your Desktop. These files give you all the details about what was copied and any errors that popped up. You can check these out anytime or find them in the Edit menu within Mimeo II.
This way, you’ll see which files didn’t copy over so you can try again without wasting resources. Plus, there's a Fast Delete feature that lets you quickly remove entire folders if needed.
In short, Mimeo II is perfect for batch duplicating lots of files. It keeps going even if there are some hiccups along the way!
