Microolap EtherSensor

Microolap EtherSensor is a cool tool that helps you keep tabs on network traffic and analyze what's going on at the application level. It captures raw packets from your network adapters or PCAP files, letting you see all the nitty-gritty details about how much data is moving around and what type it is.

How It Works

This app runs a bunch of services on the main sensor, which connects to your Ethernet port or other network gadgets. One of these services, called EtherCAP, grabs traffic from PCAP files or connected Ethernet adapters. Plus, there are additional services for ICAP clients and even one for handling Lotus Notes Transaction Logs (that’s the EtherSensor LotusTXN).

Data Collection Made Easy

All these data collection services send messages to the EtherSensor Analyser. This service is in charge of filtering and organizing network events so that you can understand what's happening.

The best part? Microolap EtherSensor lets you monitor real-time performance for each service. You can see how much CPU and memory each one uses right as it happens! It also shows graphs showing trends in cached objects, HTTP messages, instant messaging transfers, and email communication.
