What Does Mica for Everyone! Do?

This lightweight utility makes it super simple to add that stylish backdrop effect to your win32 apps. While it doesn't have a traditional interface, you can easily access it from the System Tray. How Does It Work?

Thanks to something called DwmSetWindowAttribute, Mica’s backdrop effect appears on all open windows. There’s also an option called Extend Frame Into Client Area. This one aims to stretch the window frame so Mica shows up across the entire background of the app. But here’s the catch: most applications draw their own backgrounds on top of this window frame, so it doesn’t always work as expected. The developer notes that this feature is mostly for testing; it’s fun to mess with but probably not ideal for everyday use.
