Description

Métis Veterans’ Monument

The National Métis Veterans’ Memorial Monument has been engraved in honor of all Métis veterans. The monument signifies years of planning and fundraising, with its initial unveiling in July 2014 at Batoche. The names of veterans have been meticulously collected over many years of research and collaboration to commemorate over 5,000 veterans with the first engraving on the monument.

Key Features:

  • Search through a comprehensive list of over 5,000 veterans.

  • Locate where each veteran's name is engraved on the monument.

  • Share veterans' names with friends and family.

  • Save veterans' names for easy access to their place on the monument.

How It Works:

The Métis Veterans’ Monument app allows Métis across Canada to experience the monument, even if they cannot visit Batoche in person. With the app, you can explore the full list of veterans, find their names on the monument, and share this tribute with others.

As visits to the monument may be unguided, the app serves as a valuable tool to navigate and appreciate the significance of the veterans' names on the monument.

Download the Métis Veterans’ Monument app today and pay your respects to Métis servicemen and servicewomen.
