File Compatibility

But here's the catch: Metadata Cleaner only works with files made in Office 2007 or earlier, like .DOC, .XLS, or .PPT. It doesn't work with newer versions like DOCX, XLSX, or PPTX. Why? Because those newer documents don’t have metadata like the older ones do.

Erase Unwanted Info

The best part is that this software lets you wipe away any unwanted metadata from your files. You can easily delete things like the file title, subject, keywords, comments, revision counts, hidden revision logs, or unique identifiers. Info like “Last edited by” or “Last saved by” can also be removed from the file's data.

Replace Metadata

Not only can you erase stuff, but sometimes you can replace it too! If the option is available, you can swap out the Author's name or Company information with something else.
