Getting Started with Meld

When you open the Meld application, you'll see a new comparison window. Here, you can choose what type of task you want to tackle: file comparison, directory comparison, or checking out version control.

You can open multiple comparisons at once! Meld keeps everything organized in tabs so you don’t lose track of your work. The cool part? The tools in the top toolbar change based on what you're doing. You’ll have options for saving document changes or merging directories.

File Comparison Made Easy

If you're reviewing code changes, the file comparison feature is super helpful. Meld highlights different lines and visually connects data points. Just a heads up: some file formats might not display perfectly.
