Description
What if I told you there's a good downloader app for online media that you never heard about? Your natural response would probably be something along the lines of "Yeah, I already know a couple, and I don't need an extra one."
Granted, there are tons of downloader tools for online media out there, but very few are as powerful as Media Downloader. I know, the name doesn't really say a lot, but please read on.
Let's get the obvious out of the way first: Media Downloader is a free, open-source, and cross-platform app. It's Qt/C++-based, so the looks are not amazing, but it's remarkably lightweight and very fast. Overall, the experience is somewhat old-school-feeling, but the results speak for themselves.
What exactly is Media Downloader? In short, it's a GUI frontend for some of the best CLI-based tools for downloading online media. These include the popular youtube-dl, yt-dlp, galler-dl, lux, you-get, svtplay-dl, aria2c, wget, and safari books.
If that's still not enough (even though it is, trust me), you can extend the app's functionality even further by downloading other tools' extensions.

I have to point out that yt-dlp is the default supported tool. I already said that the app is not impressive when it comes to its GUI, but everything is handled in a clean and structured manner, and every tool type has its own dedicated tab.
With the help of this app, you can download songs from your favorite online streaming services, download whole videos, as well as download images from multiple websites. In short, there's very little this app can't download.
There are a lot of configuration options as well, and the app supports a wide range of media formats (there's little chance you'll find something that's not supported). Another cool aspect is that the app allows you to perform an unlimited number of concurrent downloads (provided your computer doesn't run out of resources).
You can batch download by entering individual links or by "telling" the app to read them from a local file. There are multiple ways to both download and manage playlists, and the GUI supports a wide range of popular languages (including English, Chinese, Spanish, Polish, Russian, Japanese, French, Italian, and so forth).
More information about the extensions, as well as other aspects of Media Downloader, can be found on the app's official GitHub repository.
