Media Detective is a handy software tool designed to help you clean up your computer by scanning and getting rid of any inappropriate materials. It’s super easy to use, which is a big plus!

Simple Scanning Modes

The user interface is really simple and lets you pick from four different scanning modes: quick, normal, rigorous, and user-defined. The quick and normal scans are pretty speedy because they focus on the most common types of files. If you're looking for something more thorough, the rigorous mode does a deep dive but might take a little longer.

What Can It Find?

Media Detective can look for all kinds of inappropriate stuff by checking out various file types. It searches images like BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG, and TIFF; documents such as DOC, HTML, PPT, and XLS; audio files like MP3 and WAV; video clips including AVI and MPEG; plus even your Internet history files!

User-Defined Process

If you want more control over what gets scanned, the user-defined process lets you set up file associations. You can choose to ignore low-quality images or size-limited clips and even test large or recent files.

Drive Selection & Results Overview

You’ll need to select which drives you want to scan. Once it’s done, Media Detective shows you how many items were scanned along with any suspicious files found. At the end of the scan, it neatly displays any questionable images, videos, audio tracks, documents, and Internet history in a special pane.

Preview Before Deleting

You can check out photos or listen to audio tracks before deciding to delete them thanks to built-in tools. Plus, items can be sorted by name or suspicion level—pretty cool! You can also filter results based on size or when they were modified or accessed.

Managing Files Easily

With Media Detective, it's easy to delete or rename selected files—or even move them somewhere else if needed! You can search through results quickly too and add items to a safe list if they’re okay.

Your Deletion Options

You have several options for deleting: remove files permanently right away, send them to the Recycle Bin for later review, or ask for confirmation before deleting anything—whatever suits your style!
