Media Browser is a modern, easy-to-install, easy-to-use, freely distributed, multiplatform and well-designed software project that implements a media server/client solution for home users who want to watch movies on all of their devices.

The application relies on some of the most powerful and popular open source technologies, such as jQuery, jQuery mobile, Mono and Service Stack. It comes with a a REST-based API (Application Programming Interface) that lets independent developers to create clients.

The Media Browser application features a gorgeous design an all supported platforms (see the section below for details) that lets you to browse your media in style. Users will be able to easily find their favorite media (videos, music, images) with the powerful, built-in search functionality.

The server part of the Media Browser project can be deployed on the GNU/Linux (CentOS, Fedora, Arch Linux, Ubuntu, Debian, Docker), FreeBSD, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows computer operating systems.

On the other hand, the Media Browser client is available for the Android, Web (HTML5), iOS (iPhone, iPad), Windows 7 and Windows 8 desktops, Windows Media Center, Windows Phone, Roku, Media Portal, and Kodi (formerly XBMC) platforms.
