mCPU Meter

mCPU Meter is a super handy desktop gadget that shows you how much CPU and memory your computer is using, plus how long it's been running. It's really easy to install and set up since it doesn't have too many features to worry about.

Easy Installation

The great thing about mCPU Meter is its simple design. The gadget has a little rectangular frame that you can move around the screen just by dragging it with your mouse. It can keep track of up to eight logical and physical cores, showing their usage in both numbers and cool meter graphics—orange for CPU and green for memory.

Customizable Options

You can tweak a few settings from the Options panel that pops up when you right-click the gadget. For example, you can change how often it checks the CPU usage—anywhere from every half a second to every five seconds. You can also choose to show just one bar for the CPU level if you prefer. But keep in mind, mCPU Meter doesn’t offer many other options on its own.

Operating System Features

If you want more control, your operating system lets you adjust some things like making the frame bigger or keeping it on top of other windows—really useful when you're multitasking! You can even change how see-through it is if that's your style.

Performance Impact

This little gadget barely affects your computer's performance at all! It uses very little CPU and RAM while giving you accurate information at a good refresh rate. During our tests, we didn’t see any error messages pop up, and it didn't freeze or crash either.

Compatibility Issues

However, there are some downsides. Since mCPU Meter hasn’t had updates in a while, it might struggle on newer operating systems. For instance, during our tests on Windows 7, it couldn’t show the system uptime correctly. So just be aware of that!
