Maukies is a fun little app designed for the Yahoo! Widget Engine that brings the animation of a cute cat right to your desktop. It's super easy to install and set up, even if you're not a tech whiz!

Easy Installation and Setup

Once you have Maukies up and running, you'll notice its simple interface. It\u2019s basically a small frame you can move around anywhere on your screen using your mouse. The cat is adorable, sporting black and white fur, bright green eyes, and a red collar.

Animation Performance

Now, I have to mention that the animation isn\u2019t always smooth. It seems like Maukies hasn\u2019t had an update in a while. But if you want to tweak some settings, just open the context menu and head over to the Widget Preferences area.

In there, you can choose how the widget sits on your screen\u2014options include Top, Normal, or Bottom. Plus, thanks to Yahoo! Widget Engine's features, you can keep it above or below other windows. You can also adjust its opacity between 20% and 100%, which is pretty neat!

Resource Friendly

The good news is that this little animation doesn\u2019t hog your computer's resources at all! It runs on very low CPU and memory usage. It reacts quickly to keyboard commands and mouse actions without any hiccups. During our tests with Maukies, we didn't encounter any error dialogs or crashes.
