Maukies is this super fun app designed for the Yahoo! Widget Engine. It lets you have a cute cat animation right on your desktop! The best part? You can easily install and set it up, even if you're not a tech whiz.

Easy Installation and Fun Interface

The Maukies interface is pretty simple. It comes in a small frame that you can move around your screen just by dragging it with your mouse. The cat is adorable—it's black and white with bright green eyes and a little red collar.

Animation Performance

Now, just a heads up: the animation isn’t super smooth since Maukies hasn't seen an update in quite some time. If you want to tweak some settings, you can open the context menu to access the Widget Preferences area.

Customizing Your Experience

In the preferences, you can choose how to arrange the cat on your screen—Top, Normal, or Bottom. Thanks to Yahoo! Widget Engine's options, you can make sure it stays on top of other windows or let it sit quietly below them. You can also adjust how visible it is by changing its opacity from 20% to 100%!

Low Resource Usage

The best part? This little animation doesn't hog your computer's resources at all! Maukies runs using very little CPU power and memory. It's super responsive when you use keyboard shortcuts or click around with your mouse. During our tests, we didn’t see any error messages pop up, and Maukies didn’t freeze or crash either!
