Masquerade is a handy little app for macOS that helps you focus on just one part of your screen. Even if you have a lot of desktop space, sometimes it's nice to block out distractions, whether you're giving a presentation or watching a video. With this app, you can easily adjust the area you want to keep visible without any hassle.
Using Masquerade is super easy! When you launch the app, it puts a mask over your screen and shows only a rectangular area right in the center. If you want to change the size or shape of that rectangle, just move your mouse near the edges and drag it around. It’s as simple as that!
The cool thing about Masquerade is that while you're resizing the visible area, the mask becomes semi-transparent. This means you can still see what's behind it and know exactly what you're doing. And once you're finished adjusting things, your mouse will automatically disappear from view!
If you want to tweak things even more, Masquerade has an Options panel where you can change how transparent the mask is and pick different colors for it too. This way, you can make it fit your style or needs.
You’ll find some window control buttons in the top left corner of your screen when using Masquerade. Keep in mind that only the first button works—it lets you quit the app when you're done. The other buttons and cursor will hide automatically after a bit.
If full-screen mode isn’t an option for whatever reason, Masquerade is perfect for keeping things tidy on your screen. It quickly puts up a dark mask so that all you see is the specific area you want to focus on.
