Masquerade

Masquerade is a handy little app for macOS that helps you focus on just the part of your screen you want to see. Whether you're giving a presentation or watching a video, sometimes it’s nice to block out all the distractions around you.

What Does Masquerade Do?

This app places a mask over your screen, letting you adjust which area you want to keep visible. It’s super simple to use and perfect for cleaning up your desktop quickly without fussing with complicated tools.

Easy to Use Interface

When you launch Masquerade, it overlays your display but keeps a rectangular area in the center clear. If you want to change how much of the screen is showing, just move your mouse close to the edges! You can easily resize and reshape the area by dragging it around.

Semi-Transparent Mask

One cool feature is that when you're resizing the visible area, the mask becomes semi-transparent. This means you can still see what’s underneath, making it easier to manage what you're doing. And once you're done adjusting, your mouse disappears automatically!

Options Panel

The Masquerade app also includes an Options panel where you can tweak things like the opacity level and color of the mask. This way, you can customize how it looks based on what works best for you.

Window Controls

You’ll find some window control buttons at the top left corner of your screen while using Masquerade. Right now, only one button works – that’s your exit button! The other buttons will hide automatically along with your cursor after a bit.

A Great Tool for Focus

If full-screen mode isn't an option for whatever reason, then Masquerade is definitely worth having. It quickly adds a dark mask on top of everything else so that you can focus on just one area of your screen without distractions.
