This calculator is basically a guide in digital form. It’s super useful when you're trying to determine the best parameters for a bitoric lens. Let’s break down how it works, step by step.

Steps to Use the Calculator

1. Identify Needs: First, figure out if there’s a need for a bitoric lens and what parameters are required.


2. Keratometry Readings: Next, enter your keratometer readings into the boxes labeled "keratometry reading." Remember, this measurement is in diopters!


3. Spectacle Rx Input: Now it’s time to add the spectacle prescription. Make sure to input it in minus cylinder form. You’ll put the sphere value in the first box, cylinder value in the second box, and then the axis next to where you see a large X.


4. Vertex Distance: If your patient had their eyes measured at a vertex distance other than 12mm, just place that number in the VD box. This should also be in mm.


5. Calculate: Finally, hit that "Calculate drum values" button and let it do its magic!
