Macboard

Macboard is a super handy clipboard manager that’s totally free and open-source. It’s one of those simple apps you can find, but don’t let that fool you! It has all the features you need to keep your clipboard organized.

Why Choose a Clipboard Manager?

There are tons of clipboard managers out there, so having options is always nice. Macboard stands out because it’s straightforward and does what it needs to without any fuss. You can easily access the clipboard manager by clicking on its icon in your menu bar or just using the ⬅️⌘V shortcut. Although this shortcut isn’t customizable yet, who knows? Maybe they’ll add that feature later!

User-Friendly Features

Once you have Macboard open, you can click on any item to see a preview. If you're looking for something specific, there's a search function to help out! Want to clear everything? Just hit the button and it’s done. You can also quickly copy items back to your clipboard by holding ⌘ and pressing one of the number keys from 1-9. Just keep in mind that since the list isn’t numbered visibly, it might be tricky to remember which item corresponds with which number.

What Can It Save?

This app is great for saving both text and images. When you click on an item from your clipboard history, you can preview it right there in the app. Plus, it shows details about what type of content you're working with—like its format and where it came from.

The Link Feature

If you're copying links, Macboard tries to grab some metadata so you can see a little preview of what the page looks like. However, sometimes this doesn’t work as smoothly as we’d hope.

Simplicity is Key

The cool part about Macboard is its minimalistic design—it keeps things simple without overwhelming you with too many settings or features. But I do think adding some features would be beneficial! For example, being able to sort or categorize your clipboard items would be really useful. Also, having options for keyboard navigation and customizable hotkeys could make using Macboard even better!
