LoDNS is a handy little application that acts like a basic DNS server. It keeps track of all the hostnames in requests it gets, and then it responds with a fixed IP address (that's an A type record for those in the know).
The default IP address it uses is 127.0.0.1, but if you want to change things up, you can do that right from the command line! Just keep in mind that if you set it to 0.0.0.0, the tool will only monitor requests and won't send replies.
This tool is super useful for resolving unknown hostnames locally while you're testing out different programs. All you have to do is set 127.0.0.1 as your primary DNS and launch LoDNS! It's simple and effective.
