Description
LoadedDllsView
While Microsoft Windows provides its own task manager and similar applications have also been developed offering an extensive overlook of all running processes, their CPU/RAM usage and so on, finding an app that focuses on running/in-use libraries instead is extremely difficult. LoadedDllsView is an application that helps those looking for this type of information by displaying all DLLs loaded into memory and the processes that loaded them.
Key Features:
- Showcases all DLLs loaded into memory
- Displays the processes that loaded each DLL
- Offers detailed information on each DLL
- Simple user interface
- Runs on all modern versions of Windows
Technical Specifications:
- Developer: Nir Sofer
- Price: FREE
- Platform: Windows
- License: Freeware
If you're familiar with the developer's work, you will probably know what to expect before launching the program: it runs on all modern versions of Windows and it doesn't require any other components to run. The interface is pretty simplistic, with just a few graphic elements, as its main purpose is to display loaded libraries in a top pane and apps that use those libraries in a bottom pane.
For each DLL, LoadedDllsView will offer a wide variety of details, like its product/internal/company/file name, product/file version, attributes, full path, the number of processes accessing that library, file size, and created/modified time. Considering the overwhelming number of columns, you'll, of course, be able to hide those which provide irrelevant information.
Pros and Cons:
While this tool works pretty much as expected, with no obvious bugs or errors, there are a few obvious disadvantages. LoadedDllsView is a "read-only" app, which means that if you want to perform any tasks - like killing a process or deleting a library, you won't be able to rely on the app. Additionally, the list of currently loaded DLLs isn't displayed in real-time by default.
LoadedDllsView provides a comprehensive overview of all DLLs currently loaded by Windows and all apps running on it. By offering a full list of DLLs along with their corresponding processes and all relevant information on these files, it can be a handy tool for viewing useful data on currently loaded libraries.
