How it Works

Linking Apps

Link2SD uses a secondary partition on your SD card to create an additional segment of internal storage. By moving apk, dalvik-cache (.dex), lib, and internal data files to this partition, the app maintains the original file structure expected by the system while relocating the bulk of the data to the SD card.

Linking Obb and External Data Folders

For devices with emulated SD cards, obb and external data folders are typically located in internal storage. Link2SD transfers these folders to the 1st or 2nd partition of the external SD card, remounting the file hierarchy while keeping it accessible at its original location.
