Lightened Dream is a cool open-source app that helps you keep track of your dreams with an easy-to-use journal. If you've ever woken up and thought, 'Wow, that was a wild dream!' this is the perfect tool for you.

Explore Your Dreams

When you first open Lightened Dream, you'll notice a clean layout. It has an Explorer section where you can pick between different areas like Dreams, Categories (think Characters, Objects, Actions), and Lucidity (like REM Cycles, Subliminals, Recordings, Readings, Exercises). It's super user-friendly!

Create and Manage Your Dreams

This app comes with handy buttons that let you create new dreams easily. You can assign locations, characters, actions, themes, emotions—basically everything that made your dream unique! Plus, there are options to delete or save what you've added in just one click.

Writing Your Dreams

To add a new dream, just type into the main panel. But here's a little hiccup: you can't paste text from other apps. You're limited to what the built-in options offer. The good news? It does have spell check! However, customizing fonts or colors isn't an option.

Selecting Dream Types and Dates

You can set a title for your dream and choose from various types like Lucid Dream or Nightmare. There's even a built-in calendar for picking dates and entering times. The app also includes preset categories for emotions like joy or sadness to help you describe how you felt during those dreams.

REM Cycle Mode

The REM cycle feature lets you play audio files while selecting sleep cycles and their lengths. You can drag and drop audio files around on a graph too! And if you've got some custom audio on your computer in MP3 format? You can add that as well!

Subliminal Messages & Reality Checks

You can spice things up by adding checks like blink or reality checks such as 'What did I do an hour ago?' This helps keep you aware during your dreams.
