Description

LGTVDeviceListener is a lightweight console application designed to help you better manage and interact with your LG Smart TVs better over the network. More specifically, the tool has the role of monitoring the LG hardware events, and it can send commands to the TV to switch to a specific input. Take note that the app is designed to work with Smart TVs that employ the WebOS operating system and that are connected to a Windows OS over the network, both wired and wireless.

The developer points out that the program would work well in a combo with a USB port in a cost-effective KWM switch configuration. When used in combination with a USB switch, you would be able to create a custom system that can automatically switch the video input on the Smart TV to match the active computer. If you can’t afford a dedicated KWM switch for now, but would like to be able to manage multiple computers using the same monitor, mouse and keyboard, this can a solution worth exploring.

The utility can come in handy is scenarios where you would prefer to automatically switch the TV input when a device is connected and disconnected from the network. In other words, if you configure it correctly, you won’t have to physically be near the TV for manual input switching.
