How to Use LaunchAsRoot
- Drag the app or document you want to launch as root onto the LaunchAsRoot icon in your Finder.
- A dialog box will pop up asking for your admin name and password. Just enter those details to give permission.
- Once you've done that, LaunchAsRoot will quit after launching your chosen application.
Using the Service Feature
- Hold down Cmd and click on the app or document in Finder.
- Select "Launch As Root" from the contextual submenu that appears.
- You'll see another authentication dialog; enter your admin credentials again to proceed.
- After this, LaunchAsRoot will launch your application and then close itself automatically.
