KCall is a handy telephony app that’s part of Kontact. It makes it super easy to connect phone calls right from your computer. Plus, it integrates nicely with KDE's framework, which is pretty cool!
This app uses KDE's address book, so you can keep all your contacts organized. And guess what? If you’re using a server-based groupware address book, KCall will work with that too! This means you can access your contacts from anywhere.
The latest version of KCall is now running on the KDE 4 environment. As part of updating the software, we switched our build system to CMake. If you're into coding and want to try it out yourself, here’s how you can download it:
mkdir build; cd build
cmake ..
make
make install
After you've done that, you can start KCall and enjoy making calls right from your desktop!
If you're excited to get started with KCall, download it here. It’s a great tool for anyone who wants to streamline their calling process.
