Just Focus is a cool break reminder tool that uses the Pomodoro time management technique. It helps you focus better and get more done by breaking your work into 25-minute sessions followed by short breaks.
By default, Just Focus sticks to the classic Pomodoro rules: you work for 25 minutes, take a 5-minute break, and then after four Pomodoros, enjoy a longer break of 15 minutes. Sounds simple, right?
If those times don’t suit you, no worries! In the Just Focus Preferences window, you can tweak these settings to fit your style. You can set your Pomodoro timers anywhere from 5 to 120 minutes! Plus, both break timers can go up to 20 minutes each.
Once you start a Pomodoro session in the Just Focus app, you'll see the timer running in the app’s status bar menulet. This way, it's easy to keep track of how much longer you need to stay focused on your task.
You’ll even get an alert one minute before your break through the Notification Center! During breaks, Just Focus puts a timer on your desktop while locking both your mouse and keyboard (but don’t worry—you can stop the break if something urgent comes up).
And here’s a fun feature: while you're on a break, Just Focus can use your current wallpaper as a background. Or if you prefer something fresh, you can check out beautiful images from Unsplash.com that update automatically!
Just Focus is designed to track every completed Pomodoro session. It displays this info in its panel so you can see all your working sessions at a glance.
This means with Just Focus, you can figure out what times you're most productive and even calculate how long you've really worked each day!
