Jumpcut

Jumpcut is a handy little tool for Mac users. Since macOS doesn’t have a built-in clipboard history manager, we need to find third-party options, and Jumpcut is one of the best out there! It’s been around for over fifteen years, making it one of the oldest clipboard managers in the game.

Why Use Jumpcut?

This app keeps track of everything you’ve copied to your clipboard. When you want to paste something, you can easily access all that text without losing anything when you copy something new. Sure, it might not be the most private option out there, but for convenience, it’s totally worth it!

How to Access Your Clipboard History

Finding what you've copied is super easy. Just click on Jumpcut’s menu bar icon. By default, you’ll see the last ten things you copied, but guess what? It remembers up to 99 items! If you click on any of them, Jumpcut will try to paste it into whatever app you're using right now.

Using the Pop-Up Bezel

If you're feeling a bit more adventurous, there’s a cool feature called the pop-up bezel that you can activate by pressing ⌘ ⌥V. You can change this shortcut if you want! Once it's on your screen, use your arrow keys or number keys to scroll through your clips and pick what you need.

A Few Extra Features

The best part? When you release those modifier keys after selecting an item, it automatically pastes into your frontmost app. You can even tweak how this works! For example, make the bezel ‘sticky’ so that you'll need to hit Return or Esc to either paste or cancel an action. It gives you some control!

The Simple Choice

Overall, Jumpcut remains straightforward and user-friendly. It's free and open-source too! My only tiny gripe is that the bezel design looks a bit outdated and takes up more screen space than I’d like. But if that's not an issue for you, this app will definitely get the job done!
