JPacketGenerator is a handy tool built with Java that helps you generate UDP traffic to keep an eye on your network status. You can easily set the speed and size of the packets you send out, making it super flexible for your needs!
This entire program comes packed as a single executable .jar file. You can save it anywhere on your computer or even pop it onto a USB drive. As long as you've got Java Runtime Environment installed, you can launch it on any PC without any fuss.
The best part? It doesn’t mess with your system registry or create random files without asking. If you ever want to uninstall it, all you have to do is delete that one file. Simple as that!
The interface is super easy to navigate, featuring just one window where you’ll find all the options laid out for you. You can pick the source address from a drop-down menu, which makes things straightforward.
Next up, you'll enter the destination IP address and port number. Don’t forget to set your packet size (in bytes) and stream speed (in kilobytes per second). Once everything’s ready, just hit the button to start sending those packets at your chosen speed!
You have total control here; once started, only you can stop the traffic by clicking the “Stop” button. There’s no automatic stop option after a certain time—so keep an eye on things yourself! Also, there are no pop-up windows when starting or stopping UDP traffic.
When we ran some tests, JPacketGenerator didn’t slow down our computers at all! It uses very little CPU and RAM, so you won’t notice any lagging issues or annoying error messages popping up.
If you're looking for advanced options as an experienced user who wants more control over UDP traffic, this might not be enough for you. But if you're just testing your network by transferring packets, JPacketGenerator does its job perfectly fine! Check out this link for download.
