Jar Inspector is a handy tool that lets you easily view, edit, and decompile jar files. No more hassle with rebuilding entire jar files just to tweak a few settings!
This cool software fits right into your development workflow. You can make quick changes to configuration files and manifests without the need for a full rebuild. This feature is super helpful, especially if you're working on Java (J2EE), OSGi, or XUL projects.
What's even better? Jar Inspector comes with its own text editor but also plays nice with other external editors. You can use tools like Smultron, TextWrangler, TextMate, BBEdit, and SubEthaEdit to edit entries in jar files. It’s all about flexibility!
This software supports the ODB editor suite as well. So if you’re using any program that works with this protocol, you can easily use Jar Inspector as your external editor.
If you’re using apps like Cyberduck or Transmit, Jar Inspector makes it easy to access your web applications via FTP. You can edit configurations or debug jar files without the hassle of manually uploading and downloading any jar, war, or ear files.
NOTE: Currently, Jar Inspector doesn't work on Snow Leopard based Macs running Java 6. So keep that in mind!
