Description
JamVM
JamVM is a compact Java Virtual Machine that sticks to the JVM specification edition 2, often called the blue book. It’s pretty neat because it’s really small! When we strip it down, it takes up only about 100K on Intel and around 150K on PowerPC. That’s tiny compared to many other options out there.
Why Choose JamVM?
The cool thing about JamVM is that even though it's small, it doesn’t skimp on features. Unlike many other tiny virtual machines, it supports the full spec. This means you get object finalization and JNI support, which are pretty important for developers.
Easy to Port
JamVM currently runs as an interpreter, which helps keep its size down. This design choice makes it super easy to port to new systems since most of its code is written in C. So if you’re thinking about using Java on a new platform, this could be a great option!
