Description
Iris Mini
Iris Mini is a lifesaver for anyone who spends long hours in front of a computer. If you’ve ever experienced eye strain, or what experts call asthenopia, you know how uncomfortable it can be. Luckily, this cool little macOS app helps protect your eyes without making you change your work habits too much.
What Does Iris Mini Do?
So, here’s the deal: Iris Mini adjusts your Mac’s screen brightness and color temperature to keep your eyes comfy. It does all this without messing with the flicker rate of your display, which is pretty awesome!
Automatic Adjustments
The best part? By default, Iris Mini automatically changes the color temperature based on the time of day. That means when it’s daytime, your screen might have a cooler look, while at night, it shifts to warmer tones that are easier on the eyes.
Easy Modes to Use
When you launch Iris Mini on your Mac, it puts a neat little icon in your status bar. From there, you can easily switch between three handy modes: Automatic, Manual, and Paused.
Automatic Mode for Day and Night
In Automatic mode, Iris Mini sets your screen to a color temperature of 5000K with 100% brightness during the day. But come nighttime? It lowers those values to 3400K and 80% brightness to cut down on blue light exposure. This way, it helps keep melatonin production steady so you can sleep better.
Manual Mode When You Need It
If you want more control over how your screen looks at any moment, just flip into Manual mode! Here, it’ll set everything to that cozy night value of 3400K and 80% brightness whenever you need a break from harsh lighting.
Pausing for Default Settings
You can also take a breather by hitting the Paused mode. This one resets everything back to default settings until you're ready to dive back into work!
Your Eyes Will Thank You!
Overall, Iris Mini is an excellent tool for keeping eye strain at bay with hardly any effort from you. Just pop it in your Applications folder and let it do its magic!
