InsertGif

InsertGif is a cool tool that helps you find and add GIFs to your chats, emails, or documents. While lots of apps have some kind of GIF finder, not all do it well. InsertGif makes it super easy to grab the perfect GIF for any occasion!

Easy Access with Keyboard Shortcuts

To get started with InsertGif, just click on its icon in the Dock or menu bar. You can also use the hotkey ⇧⌘I. Once you're in, just type a keyword related to the GIF you want and browse through the results until you find one that's just right.

Multiple Export Options

When it comes to sharing your GIFs, InsertGif offers several options. You can easily copy the URL of the GIF to your clipboard. But wait, there's more! The app lets you format it as an HTML image or Markdown too. This is super handy for adding GIFs into emails or even GitHub pages.

Expert Mode for Power Users

If you're feeling adventurous, switch to expert mode! In this mode, everything can be controlled using just your keyboard. Plus, the app will hide from your Dock which keeps things tidy. For those who use GIFs a lot, this feature really makes InsertGif shine compared to other built-in options.

Smooth Navigation

After hitting that hotkey to open up the window, searching for a specific term is easy. Use Tab or ⇧Tab to scroll through your options. When you see a GIF you love, press ⇧Enter, and it'll paste directly into whatever app you're using! If you want it as an HTML image or Markdown format instead, just hit ⌃⇧Enter or ⌥⇧Enter.

A Few Drawbacks

No software is perfect! While InsertGif does its job well by enhancing how we use GIFs in our daily tasks, sometimes finding that ideal GIF can take a bit longer since you have to cycle through them one at a time instead of seeing all thumbnails at once.
