iFindText (formerly known as AskPoirot) is a super handy macOS application. It helps you search for specific words or phrases across multiple documents all at once, and you can even see how many times those words show up!

The best part? iFindText has a really quick search engine that can handle hundreds of documents in just a few seconds! Plus, it works with tons of file types like XLS, TXT, RTF, DOC, and more.

Spotting Mistakes Made Easy

If you ever need to find any misspelled words in several documents, iFindText is your go-to tool. Just pick your target files, type in the word you're looking for, and hit the Search button.

User-Friendly Interface

This app features an easy-to-use interface that shows off all its functions clearly. The main window has a pane listing all documents containing your search term along with the number of times it appears. You’ll also see the total hits displayed right above that Hits column.

Sorting Made Simple

You can sort through information like file names and text found by just clicking on the column headers. Want to check out a document? Just double-click on any entry to open it up in the right application!

Detailed Results Overview

On the left side of the main window, you’ll find details about your search results. This includes parsing details like how many folders and total files were checked along with how long it took.

Customize Your Search Experience

The main window also has a Find field where you can enter what you want to look for. There's an Insert menu too so you can select which document types to process.

More Features to Explore

You can even choose different encoding types or decide which file types to skip during searches. Plus, there are options to search for full words only or make searches case sensitive if that's what you need!
