So, you've got iTunes on your Mac, right? It's pretty much a must if you want to connect your iPhone or iPad. But here's the thing: syncing with iTunes can be super limited. You often have to sync your whole library, and that can take forever!
iExplorer is an awesome macOS app that makes managing what's on your iOS device way easier. Instead of syncing everything, you can actually browse through your files and pick out just the ones you want to export to your hard drive.
The cool part? When you plug in your iPhone or iPad via USB, iExplorer will instantly recognize it and show all its contents right in its main window. Just make sure your iTunes app is running and that your device shows as connected (you might need to confirm the connection on your phone or tablet).
iExplorer does a great job of keeping everything sorted into categories like media, apps, backups (think messages, contacts, voicemail—basically everything), photos, iCloud stuff, books, and bookmarks. It makes navigating through all that data super straightforward!
You can even preview the content of files before moving them around. Most exporting options are easy to find with the “Action” button on the top toolbar or by hitting the “Export” button at the bottom of the main window (this one only shows up in certain situations).
If you're using a jailbroken device, you'll love this: iExplorer lets you access the “real” root! Plus, it can automatically enable disk mode hijacking for easy access.
The best part about iExplorer? It’s a fantastic solution for managing and transferring content from your phone or tablet without relying on that clunky sync function. You get to view all files on your devices and move them around individually wherever you want!
