Iconical is here to make your life easier when creating icons for iOS or Mac apps. If you've got a source design, this tool helps you whip up icons in different sizes without wasting time or energy.
The interface for Iconical is super simple. You just open a window where you can import and preview your image. You can also choose where to save the icons, pick the format, and select the icon sizes from a handy list. Once you're all set, just hit that Export button!
After exporting, Iconical usually gives you a confirmation message and tries to open the output folder in Finder. But here's a heads-up: it might not always do that during tests. The process is quick, so you might just want to check the folder yourself after clicking Export.
When you export your icons, Iconical creates a new folder called AppIcon.appiconset. Inside this folder, you'll find all your created icons along with a JSON file that lists everything in there.
You'll notice in Iconical's main window that it lists all the supported icon sizes by platform. It can create icons for iPads, iPad Pros, iPhones, and Macs—all those standard sizes are covered!
If you import another image while generating icons in the same output folder, don't worry! Iconical will ask if you want to replace any old icons first. You'll see a message above the Export button letting you know what's going on—so you won't accidentally overwrite anything important.
In short, Iconical makes generating app icons at all sizes for iPhones, iPads, or Macs super easy! Just remember: start with an original icon that's big enough to resize into those standard dimensions.
