iCall is a handy desktop chat and VoIP client that helps you keep in touch with your friends and acquaintances from anywhere around the globe. It combines instant messaging and phone calling, totally changing how you communicate.

Getting Started with iCall

Once you install it, just type in your username and password to start chatting and making calls. The first time you run it, a friendly 'Setup Assistant' will guide you through everything. This includes setting up your accounts, whether they're XMPP-based IM accounts or Facebook. Plus, you can run audio and video tests. Don’t worry if you miss anything; you can always adjust settings later in the 'Preferences' window.

International Calling Made Easy

The main goal of iCall is to give you a budget-friendly way to make international calls using your PC. You can check your account balance and add credit in the 'My iCall' section. If you're in the US or Canada, there’s even a free access number for others to call you through iCall!

User-Friendly Interface

The interface looks like any other IM client. You can see who’s online or offline, group contacts, customize your status message, and set up an avatar image. Just right-click on a contact name to start a private conversation, send files, or change contact details.

Chat Features That Shine

When you're chatting away, typing messages is super easy! You can preview videos or URLs right there in the conversation window too. Oh! And iCall comes packed with a fun collection of emoticons that makes chatting even more entertaining.

Other Cool Features

This app also offers fast file transfers, Facebook integration, and fully customizable notifications. If you're away from your computer for a bit, enabling the 'Autoaway' feature shows an idle message so people know you're not at your desk.
